In this modern era, every person is surrounded by problems which he has to solve within a certain time limit. Same is the case with me. So, I started looking for the solution to solve these problems and I came with that solution “Eat that Frog with a Pomodoro”. So, I thought to apply it in my daily routine life. Basically, it is a technique for utilizing the maximum of your time efficiently.

So I though to do the following steps in order to perform Pomodoro technique

1. Decide any task to be done

2. Set the timer for 25 minutes

3. Work on that task until the timer rings. Meanwhile if you find any distraction(s), note it down

4. Now take a short 3–5 minutes break

5. Repeat steps 1–4

After following all these steps, I should say that this technique is very beneficial for those who often lost their concentration during their work. Because this 25 minutes timer forces you to eat that frog (distraction) and just focus on your goal and reward which you can give yourself after 25 minutes like a candy or a chocolate etc.

The tasks I complete through this technique are;

  • Wrote this blog in just 50 minutes
  • Completed my Amal Academy Assignment by dividing into sub tasks
  • Made Resume for internship in Fauji Fertilizer Company

Give yourself a short reward after completing a task

In addition to that, 5–10 minutes break also plays a vital role in boosting your overall performance. Because when you take a rest, your ability and courage to complete a task increases and you’ll get that work done in a much shorter time.

If you’re tired, listen to rest not quit

Now when I apply this technique to complete my task. I find this to be very beneficial for time saving. Because it increase your work productivity and complete your task in much shorter time as you are much focused on completing this goal within a certain time limit rather than just thinking about completing by today.

In addition to the Pomodoro technique, I will also try to adopt the following useful techniques

  • To-Do list
  • Prior planning of the day ahead
  • Follow 80/20 rule

Mark Twain once said, “If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”
